How LaMarcus Aldridge’s injury impacts Dallas Mavericks: Seeding impact
The NBA has not released an official schedule for the regular season games in Orlando. Multiple reports suggest they are going to use the slate that was going happen before the suspension as a guide. That does not work out perfectly. CBS Sports released what they believe the schedule will be here.
The Western Conference is tightly packed two through seven. The second-seeded Clippers are just 5.5 games ahead of the Mavericks. Dallas is hoping to avoid that first round matchup. Their path to doing so is winning games in Orlando.
The Spurs are set to play the Jazz and Nuggets multiple times according to CBS Sports. Utah is just 2.5 games ahead of Dallas with the Nuggets four up. The Jazz could slip after the season-ending injury to Bojan Bogdanovic, but two games against the Spurs will be a boost. The Mavs will struggle to catch the Jazz if they grab two wins over San Antonio.
LaMarcus Aldridge’s injury could hurt the Mavericks from a seeding perspective. Dallas will be competing hard from the jump in Orlando. Do not count them out. They could easily move up and avoid a first round matchup against the Clippers.
