Dallas Mavericks things to watch: 2. How good is KP?
As many anticipated, Kristaps Porzingis had a slow start to this season. The Unicorn had not played in an NBA game since Feb. 2018. There was some rust to knock off plus Porzingis had to fit into a new role on a different team. He improved as the season progressed.
KP was playing his best basketball just before the suspension. Coach Carlisle shifted him to the five after Dwight Powell’s season-ending injury. That allowed Porzingis to be more involved in pick and rolls with Luka Doncic. It opened up his game.
Over his last 15 contests, Zinger averaged 25.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per. He was back to his All-Star form. That gives the Mavericks one of the best duos in the NBA. No team once to face them with Luka and KP firing on all cylinders.
Which Porzingis will fans see in Orlando? Will he be rusty after the extended break without basketball? Or do supporters see All-Star KP helping lead Dallas into the playoffs?
Fans saw him working out on Instagram. Porzingis is going to be ready. His play will help determine how far Dallas advances in the playoff, so keep an eye on his production in Orlando.
