Dallas Mavericks 2020 NBA Draft target: Josh Green, SG, Arizona

Height: 6’6

Weight: 206 lbs.

2019-2020 per game stats: 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.5 steals, 30.9 minutes

Green’s Arizona highlights

Josh Green could be a bit of a reach for Dallas in the first round. The Mavs might be off trading back if they want to add Green to their roster.

He showed solid defensive potential during his one season at the University of Arizona. Green is a plus athlete who is capable of knocking down shots (hit 36.1 percent of his 83 3-point attempts this season) making him a potential 3-and-D candidate in the NBA. He has length and should be able to defend multiple positions.

He is a bit raw on the offensive end and doesn’t always make the right play. The 19-year-old does not one elite skill. That always gives you pause when looking at a prospect. Green performs best as a catch and shoot option. Hopefully, he can continue to build on his defense and shooting going forward.

Drafting Green is a bet on his potential. He is going to take some time to develop. Do not expect him to make a massive impact in year one.
