9. Ja Morant- Memphis Grizzlies

Some may question Ja Morant being this high on the list. He is only a rookie, but Morant appears to be a special talent. The point guard averages 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in just 30.0 minutes per game this season. He is also shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 36.7 percent on his 3-pointers. Rookie guards do not hit nearly 50 percent of their field goals often.

Those numbers have steadily improved too. In just the 2020 portion of the schedule, Morant is scoring 17.8 points with 7.4 assists on 51.5 percent from the field.

The 20-year-old is also leading the Grizzlies to the playoffs. They currently sit eighth in the Western Conference and are 3.5 games ahead of the ninth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers.

Also. Who should surround Luka in the Mavs closing lineup?

Morant is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year and his first All-Star appearance is fast approaching. He has incredible quickness and is never afraid to put someone on a poster. Couple that with vision and shooting ability, and Morant quickly becomes difficult to stop. Here are some highlights from his rookie season.

Expect Ja Morant to rise up this list quickly especially if he can lead the Grizzlies to the playoffs and take a step forward in year two.
