Dallas Mavericks: Where does Luka Doncic stand in the MVP race?

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo- Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo is still in the driver’s seat in the MVP race. He is looking to win the award for the second straight year. The 25-year-old has improved his counting stats over last season despite playing nearly two fewer minutes per game.
Giannis is averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block per game this season. He would be only the third player in NBA history to averaging at least 29 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists a night for a full season. Joining Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor.
Antetokounmpo has started to consistently hit 3-pointers this season. That has unlocked another level to his game making him the toughest cover in the NBA.
The Bucks also have the best record in the league at 53-12. They have clinched a playoff spot and suffered just three home losses all season.
The Greek Freak has been incredible, but it will be interesting to see how the race shakes out if there are more regular season games.
Next. Will the Mavs trade their first round pick in 2020?
Voters could put more weight on the stretch run after the suspension. It will be the last things they saw plus added points for doing it in the face of adversity. That should add another fun element to the already intriguing season. Hopefully, fans get to enjoy it.
