Luka Doncic was making it look easy on Monday night. He assisted on the Dallas Mavericks first two baskets of the game. Both were made by Kristaps Porzingis. The 20-year-old star got his scoring going by driving into the paint. Luka finished the first quarter with six points, three rebounds, and two assists. He also made this play late in the period.
Doncic continued to build as he had nine points in the second quarter including making two step back 3-pointers.
Luka took over a bit in the third quarter. He scored 12 of the Mavericks 29 points and assisted on six others. Coach Carlisle took him out with 1:31 remaining in the period too. Doncic hit two step back threes plus a pull up in the third. He was due for a strong shooting game and delivered it against the Thunder.
Luka only had two points in the final quarter and failed to produce an assist. The Mavs struggled a bit down the stretch but held on for a ten-point road victory.
Doncic has produced double-digit rebounds in 22 of his 42 games played this season. His rebounding has taken a significant step in his second season. Luka may average over ten per game during his prime. It will be another added element to his unbelievable repertoire.
