Stellar first

Luka Doncic got the ball rolling early for the Dallas Mavericks. He continuously attacked in the paint and found teammates for easy buckets. His ability to get to the rim and finish is so impressive. Teams know it is coming and cannot stop it.

Doncic got fancy with his passing too. Here he finds Kristaps Porzingis for a wide-open 3-pointer off a must-see dime.

Mavs supporters were also treated to a Luka dunk in the opening quarter.

Doncic continues to make the smart play too. Here the Jazz double team to stop him from getting into the paint, so Luka finds Maxi Kleber for the easy score.

Luka was subbed out with 11 seconds remaining in the first quarter. He finished with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal. It was the second straight game where Doncic went off in the first quarter. He led the Mavericks to 36 points. They were up 11 at the end of one.

Doncic spread his scoring out the rest of the way. He had seven points in the third for his second-highest quarter. Joe Ingles did a fantastic job on Luka. He slowed him down as much as anyone can these days. The 20-year-old All-Star still finished with 25 points and seven dimes.
