Dallas Mavericks fans need to vote for Luka Doncic to pass LeBron in All-Star votes

2. New captain

All NBA fans should get out and vote for Luka Doncic, so there can be a new captain this year. In the first with this format, LeBron James and Stephen Curry led the squads. Last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo topped the voting in the East after James switched over to pace the Western Conference when he joined the Lakers.

Giannis has the East vote locked up this season. He will once again captain one of the two squads. Fans should not want an exact repeat of last year. Doncic is the only player that can catch James. If fans want to avoid a third straight year with LeBron leading the way, they should be voting.

James has picked Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie Irving both times during his captaincy. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Can Mavs fans pump out votes frequently enough for Luka to overtake the King? It is worth giving it a shot.

Mavs supporters should remember that it is a process. Doncic should make his first All-Star this season. He will have plenty of chances to become the captain. Luka is not going anywhere and neither is this format. The Mavericks’ superstar should only improve. Expect the rest of the NBA to be having nightmares about slowing down Doncic.
