Highlights and looking ahead

It was a short night for Luka Doncic, but that does not mean it was not a productive one. The Dallas Mavericks star still gave fans a massive highlight video worth checking out in his 27 minutes of action.

It was plus that Coach Rick Carlisle could rest Luka and the starters for the entire fourth quarter on Tuesday night. The Mavs had to travel to Sacramento because they take on the Kings on Wednesday. It is a difficult back-to-back set. The Kings are making a playoff push and will be hungry to knock off the Mavericks.

That extra rest could pay dividends late in Wednesday’s game. Luka and Dorian Finney-Smith both played 27 minutes against the Warriors. The other starters saw 24 and only two other players were north of 20. The Mavericks certainly got a bit of extra rest because of the blowout win.

Keep an eye on the status of Kristaps Porzingis. He has missed eight straight games with a knee injury but appears on the verge of returning. Fans can hear his postgame comments here. The Mavs need him back on both ends of the floor. Consider him questionable until there is a more definitive update.
