The Dallas Mavericks should look to improve their depth and playoff standing with the addition of Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the NBA’s biggest surprises. They won 16 of their first 23 games. Fans should be appreciative of the tremendous start, but could the Mavs be better? They are third in the loaded Western Conference as of Dec. 10. That does not mean improvements cannot be made.
The Mavericks appear comfortably locked into a playoff spot, but winning games in April is a different story. The Mavs have multiple avenues of improving too.
They could look to add a third star, but the cost would be significant. Instead of jumping the gun and trading away multiple bench players for a massive piece, the Mavericks could alternately grab a low-cost veteran.
Andre Iguodala would be the perfect fit for Dallas. The 35-year old is currently under contract with the Memphis Grizzlies after he was traded in the offseason by the Warriors. The former Finals MVP is not with the rebuilding squad, though. He is waiting for a trade to a contender.
