Sixth Man of the Year

Lou Williams

“The Lou Williams 6th Man of the Year Award (or so it should be) will most likely go to, you guessed it, Lou Williams. The LA Clippers will be much better than they were in 2019-20, giving Lou Williams even more of an opportunity and stage to shine. With so many other players to key in on, Williams will have a chance to put up even better numbers than years past. If he is on the court with newly acquired Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, the three-time award winner will cause headaches for opposing coaches.” –Josh Gamel

“Williams has a monopoly on the award at this point. He scoring punch off the bench will only help the gel period of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Williams is among the league’s best scorers and enables the defense to take more chances. With another roll-to-the-rim threat in Ivica Zubac in the middle, Williams will destroy the league in 2019-2020.” –Evan Siegel

Spencer Dinwiddie

Spencer Dinwiddie. The easy choice seems to be Lou Williams, but I decided to mix it up a bit after three straight boring award picks. Dinwiddie will most certainly come off the bench again in Brooklyn with Kyrie Irving‘s arrival. He is an excellent scorer and has shown he can run an offense at a high level. With Durant out for the year, Dinwiddie will get a lot of scoring opportunities. Expect him to capitalize and take home his first 6MOY award.” –Sean Bush

J.J. Redick

J.J. Redick. Redick’s shooting is going to be relied upon pretty heavily on the Pelicans, and while he won’t be the starter each night, he’ll play starter minutes. He’ll be set up to torch second units and the depth the Pelicans have will be in his favor.” –Charles Allen

Marcus Smart

Marcus Smart. Assuming he is not used in the starting lineup, this Boston team is still going to be good but has lost some scorers in the process. Smart could be one of the guys called on to up his offensive game and help push the Boston bench forward throughout the season.” –Keatn Rast

Joe Ingles

“It could very well be Lou Williams for the possibly millionth time. Or, it could be the player who just transitioned to a sixth man role this year. Joe Ingles was already killing us with his defense and three point shooting as a starter. Now, we get to witness it with him coming off the bench. Signing Bojan Bodganovic was easily a very smart move from the Jazz. It not only creates more depth to an already great team, but puts vet Ingles as the bench captain. I think Ingles will do even better off the bench and could even average over 15 points per game on 40% shooting from three.” –Arsal Hussain

Bogdan Bogdanovic

“It is really difficult to even compete with Lou Williams at this point, but the LA Clippers are so good that I think he will get overlooked some this year. I am going to go with Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Sacramento Kings. He is young and has been poised for a real solid breakout year for sometime. This is the year.” –Kohl Rast
