The Dallas Mavericks are set for another hot summer in free agency. Here is a look at the pros and cons of signing All-Star guard Kemba Walker.

The Dallas Mavericks crave a postseason return. For three consecutive seasons,  the Mavs are looking to July at the end of the regular campaign. Ironically, even in the seasons of playoff participation, Dallas looked past June and locked its eyes on the following month.

Unlike most summers, 2019 is looking to be a legitimate free agency to lure star players away from their current teams. That is mostly thanks to the presence of 20-year-old Luka Doncic.

If summer 2016 taught Mavericks fans anything, sometimes having ample cap space is more detrimental than beneficial to a flexible franchise. However, Dallas is in a once in a lifetime space regarding team-building, and they have seen both sides of the free agency spectrum.

Donnie Nelson has a realistic shot at locking up a long-term deal with a former All-Star big man in Kristaps Porzingis. The Mavs also have the caps space to add either another star or a few game-changing role players to the young core of Doncic and Porzingis. It’s almost surreal to ponder the plethora of choices the front office has at its disposal.

Dallas Mavericks fans everywhere are buzzing about which player fits best. The debate rages on about if they should sign an All-Star or multiple pieces. The opportunity of adding Kemba Walker can be a hot topic among supporters too. The three-time All-Star guard may not be the perfect fit with the Mavs.

Let us examine the pros and cons of the Dallas Mavericks signing Kemba Walker.
