Dallas Mavericks: Five trade partners for Dennis Smith Jr.

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly escalating trade talks for point guard, Dennis Smith Jr. After only a season and a half with the franchise and a lot of potential shown, where could Smith’s next destination be?
It is looking more and more likely that the Dallas Mavericks will be moving second year point guard, Dennis Smith Jr., before the trade deadline. This news comes as a bit of a surprise as it seemed that trade talks had been tamped down for the youngster from North Carolina. New rumors surfacing appear to suggest that both DSJ and Mavs are interested in a change.
For those of us on the outside looking in, it is sad to see someone who gave us so much entertainment being shopped around like this. Whether you agree with the decision to move Dennis Smith or not, it is never easy seeing players you have grown attached to ship off and play for another team.
Dennis Smith was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2017 NBA Draft with the 9th overall pick. Although Smith fell to the ninth spot in the draft, fans and his fellow rookies all saw what he was capable of and just how high his ceiling is as an NBA player.
During his first season in the NBA, Dennis played in and started 69 games for the Mavs. He missed the other 13 games with injuries, but when he was able to play, Coach Carlisle had him in the starting lineup. That has been true this year as well, with DSJ starting in all 28 games he has played in so far this season.
With fewer than 100 NBA games under his belt, which teams are going to be willing to pay the necessary price to get the explosive guard on their team?
