The Dallas Mavericks are rolling on the court after a rough start. Here are five trades that could improve their roster and push them into the playoffs.
The Dallas Mavericks are playing what may be their best basketball of the 2018-2019 season right now. They have won three straight games including an astonishing 50-point victory over the Jazz on Nov. 14. Yes, you read that right. The Mavs have also won four of their last five games. They look like a contender a rough start to the year.
The defense has been most impressive during their recent spell of games. The Mavericks have held the opposition to 100 or fewer points in each of their four recent victories. They played one of their best defensive game in franchise history holding the Jazz to 68 points. More outstanding when considering that Utah is expecting to make a deep playoff run.
The fantastic play does not mean the Dallas Mavericks are the perfect team, though. They have six wins in their first 14 games and are currently 13th in the Western Conference. Now, they are just two games back of the eighth seed. As expected, the West is formidable and deep this season.
The Mavs have some flaws too. According to NBA Stats, they rank 28th out of 30 teams in turnovers per game, 26th in assist to turnover ratio, and middle to the pack in plenty of other categories.
The Mavericks roster could use some improvements, and that is our goal. Here is to countdown five potential trades that could vault the Dallas Mavericks into the playoffs this season.
