Anthony Davis scores 37 as the Pelicans take control late to outlast the Dallas Mavericks.

The last game of a four-game road trip landed the Mavericks in New Orleans to face off against Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. And tonight was all about The Brow and our not-so old friend Rajon Rondo.

The Mavericks found themselves shorthanded as Dennis Smith Jr. was out with a sprained left ankle, which he suffered on Saturday against the Nets. For New Orleans, the Pelicans were missing their starting guard Jrue Holiday, who was out with flu-like symptoms.

The game was a battle back-and-forth the entire night as the Mavericks showed no signs of rolling over. Anthony Davis put up a 19-point first half but left the game before halftime with a lower leg injury, though he would return to start the second half.

The game was tied at 80 going into the fourth but Davis and Rondo led a surge in the final frame to give the Pelicans a 115-105 victory. Anthony Davis finished with 37 points and eight rebounds on 71.4% shooting. Rondo just missed out on a triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds, and 14 assists.

In DSJ’s absence, Yogi and J.J. combined for 25 points and 10 assists. McDermott added 11 points off the bench and Kyle Collinsworth scored his career-high with eight points along with five assists.
