NBA trade season is officially underway and the Dallas Mavericks could look to make some moves over the next month.
The Dallas Mavericks are currently the worst team in the Western Conference and own the second worst record in the league with a 8-22 record.
Dallas isn’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but expecting a playoff berth at this point seems pretty far-fetched. This is where the looming trade deadline on February 8th could come into play in helping the Mavericks look towards the future.
Outside of their own draft picks and an expiring contract of Josh McRoberts, the Mavericks have a handful of pieces that could be included in trade rumors over the next month.
Devin Harris is a solid veteran on an expiring contract that could help a playoff team. The same could be said about Salah Mejri for a team needing a paint protector.
You also have the situation with Wesley Matthews and his looming player option worth $18.6 million next season that he should pick up. Could Dallas entertain trading the veteran wing before the deadline?
What about the Nerlens Noel situation? With him out of the rotation and recently having a thumb surgery, him and the Mavericks could look to find him a new home before the deadline.
With that being said, here is one trade for each of the four Mavericks listed above that could make sense from teams across the league.
