Ranking the Top 30 Starting Point Guards in NBA

5.) Kyrie Irving – Boston Celtics
Boston finally swung for their star and got the 25-year-old Irving. One of the best isolation scorers in the game who can score on the biggest stage, he comes in at five for me.
4.) John Wall – Washington Wizards
I could see the argument for three, but Wall still has a level in playmaking and defense that he could still get to. He is arguably the most athletic guard in the league behind Westbrook.

3.) Chris Paul – Houston Rockets
Still probably the best pure point guard in the game, Paul moves to Houston where he will share the point guard duties with James Harden. Maybe now he can finally reach the Conference Finals for the first time in his career.
2.) Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors
This is 1A and 1B for me at the top. Curry is the two-time MVP and NBA Champion that is one of the two best point guards in the game. His reign at the top is just beginning.
1.) Russell Westbrook – Oklahoma City Thunder
Averaging a triple double for the entire season and winning the MVP of the league lands you at the top of this list. His ability to affect the game in all areas of the game puts him a little over Curry as the 1A compared to the 1B.
*If Dennis Smith Jr. has a breakout rookie season and wins the Rookie of the Year, he would most likely move inside of the top 15 of this list.
