LAS VEGAS, NV – JULY 16: Dennis Smith Jr. /

Dennis Smith Jr. – 79

Smith Jr. is the wildcard to project as a rookie. The only thing you can base this off of is the fact that both Fultz and Ball had their ratings released at an 80. Even though he should be an 80, I believe 2K will go just a notch below the top two picks in the draft.

Seth Curry – 79 (previously 77)

Curry had a breakout season in Dallas last year and 2K should reflect that with his initial rating. Upping him to 79 should put him right with Noel ratings wise.

J.J. Barea – 74 (previously 77)

Barea finished the season with the same rating as Seth Curry do to his impressive play when he was healthy. Another year older, I believe 2K will lower him back down to around Devin Harris.

Yogi Ferrell – 75 (previously 75)

Ferrell, added to the game midseason, was a nice surprise for the Mavericks this year. He finished as a 75 and I believe he will open the season at the same rating. This would put him the third highest rated guard on the team, which I think is correct.

Devin Harris – 72 (previously 73)

Harris had his own injury issues last season, but still had a pretty decent season. With Dallas set to bring him back, I have him at a 72, just a notch below Barea.

*As far as Johnathan Motley, Maxi Kleber, Gian Clavell, Brandon Ashley and other camp invites, Motley is the only one I give a shot at starting the season at a 69.

If my predictions are right, or close, this would put the following players (in order) as the highest rated Mavericks.

Barnes and Nowitzki as the only players at 80 or above. Then I have a three-way tie at 79 with Smith Jr., Noel, and Curry.
