With just a day left until the fate’s of numerous draftees and a good amount of NBA teams are decided, The Smoking Cuban staff wanted to take their pick at exactly what a dream scenario would entail with the 9th overall pick.

Every NBA team wants to see that player near the top of their board fall a few spots. No matter what happens, every team has a list of players they would be ecstatic about, and every team has a list of realistic targets.

We spend every post, every tweet, and every status update talking about who we believe the Mavs should get or at least who we feel they should be targeting. But, wouldn’t it be fun to actually just sit down and say, “Man, who do we really want?” This is what the staff did for this post and, not surprisingly, we had a few players that really stuck out.

To give a little bit of context for the readers, we eliminated Markelle Fultz from the conversation here. Even though I personally would still choose my pick over Fultz, the rest of the staff was given clear instruction to keep him out of the roundtable discussion because his acquisition would be impossible at this point. In other words, before you get on our case for not saying Fultz should be the dream pick, just know he was not an option.

With news still coming in that the Mavericks are reportedly still looking to move up in the draft, some of these players have become maybe less of a pipe dream and more of an unlikely story. If that is the case, there may be some ecstatic Mavs fans and TSC staff members as well.

So, without further ado, here are the staff picks on a Mavericks dream draft scenario.
