In the second part of our staff roundtable, we discuss an important topic. Just who will the Dallas Mavericks end up picking in the NBA Draft on Thursday? No bias included, here are the staff picks for the #9 overall pick.

There is a lot of speculation when it comes to the NBA Draft. Rumors fly out everyday with a new team falling in love with a new player and everyone certain that they are going to pull the trigger on that player. For example, the Los Angeles Lakers fell in love with Lonzo Ball first. Then came Josh Jackson who everyone was certain that LA would pull the trigger on. Then rumors started circulating that LA wanted to trade with Boston for the first overall pick.

The same thing has happened with a number of teams, with really only one certainty: the Sixers are taking Fultz at #1. Past that, there is no telling what is going to happen in this draft.

Most of the names that have been associated with the Dallas Mavericks have been exclusively point guards. There was the original speculation that the Mavs would be interested in finding the next Dirk in Lauri Markkanen or a versatile forward like Jonathan Isaac, but again, there is no telling who is going to be there when the Mavericks are making their pick.

The New York Knicks newfound love of French prospect, Frank Ntilikina is an important rumor to follow, but again, no one can confirm it until the pick is made. The same can be said about the Magic’s love of Dennis Smith Jr., the Timberwolves love for Jonathan Isaac, and the rest of the news out there on Twitter and elsewhere.

The point I am making is that we don’t know who will be there for Dallas, but the staff here at The Smoking Cuban is giving their best guess right now. Here is everyone’s pick.

Next: Frank Ntilikina
