Dallas Mavericks: 2017 NBA Mock Draft 3.0

De'Aaron Fox. 3. 93. . . PG
There hasn’t been a player rise up draft boards over the past couple of months more than De’Aaron Fox out of Kentucky.
Fox comes out of Kentucky as arguably the most athletic player in the draft and someone with the highest of characters. He is electric with the basketball and has the body frame to turn into an elite defensive prospect.
As far as his fit in Philadelphia, it’s not perfect and I realize that. Philly needs a shooter alongside of Ben Simmons and that is the biggest weakness of Fox. I simply think that Fox is too good of a talent to pass up at three.
I think his shooting form is great and can get better as time goes along. Another thing to keep in mind is Ben Simmons missed his whole rookie season and we honestly don’t know for sure what he is going to be. Is the talent of Fox worth passing up for the uncertainty of Simmons?
I take Fox and make it work with Simmons.
66. . . SF. Josh Jackson. 4
Phoenix might have lost out on lottery night but they will still land a top-notch talent at the fourth spot in the draft.
Fultz and Ball are most likely to be gone, leaving the pick for the Suns between some combination of Jackson, Tatum, Fox, and Isaac. Isaac is my dark horse at this pick, but if Josh Jackson falls to fourth, you have to take him.
There is talk that the Lakers and Boston love Jackson too, but he would fit perfectly among the core in Phoenix.
He would go alongside of Devin Booker on the wing and be one of the best, young wing tandems in the league. The Suns should be ecstatic to land Jackson at four.
