Dallas Mavericks: Four Trade Down Opportunities in Draft

The Dallas Mavericks currently sit with the 9th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but could they possibly move down?
In Mark Cuban’s first losing season since owning the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas admittedly tanked at the end of the season so they could get a higher draft pick.
The “tanking” didn’t work as it does for some teams as Dallas finished the season with the 9th best odds heading into lottery night. The Mavericks obviously stayed put and will select at the 9th spot on draft night.
Many people assume that the Mavericks will be targeting a point guard come draft night. Names such as Dennis Smith Jr. and Frank Ntilikina have constantly been linked to the Mavericks and rightfully so.
But what if Dallas entertained the idea of moving back a few spots and gaining another asset? What if a player like Jayson Tatum drops to nine and Dallas starts a bidding war for teams to move up and get him?
Here are four trade down options for the Dallas Mavericks on draft night.
