SG. Malik Monk. 3. 93. .

ISAAC: For most people, this is where the draft will really begin.

Philly lands this pick via the Sacramento Kings swap. The Kings jumped from eighth to third on draft night but had to swap with Philly due to a previous trade. The Kings get the Sixers pick which ended up being the 5th overall pick.

Philly obviously has Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Dario Saric moving forward as pieces of the future. The two obvious needs for them moving forward is guard help and more shooting.

Malik Monk gives them both.

Monk is an insane of an athlete but never got to fully show that at Kentucky due to the team need of his outside shooting. Monk paired with De’Aaron Fox at Kentucky where they formed arguably the best back court in the country.

The ability to play the point is questioned by some, but Philly doesn’t need that from Monk. They need an athletic wing alongside Ben Simmons at point that can score at a high clip from behind the arc.

I would expect Jayson Tatum to get some love at this spot also, but the scoring of Monk will be hard to pass up for Philly.
