. . PG. Frank Ntilikina. 9. 79

ISAAC: In one of the more popular pairings in mock drafts, I would have Dallas taking the kid from France in this situation.

If Jonathan Isaac was still on the board, it would be hard for them to pass him up, but getting a potential point guard of the future might outweigh nabbing Isaac.

After the Combine, Donnie Nelson led a Mavs group across the pond to scout Ntilikina up close and personal. The 18 year old kid has been playing in a lesser known Champions League that isn’t as well known as some of the other European leagues.

Ntilikina is a 6’5″ point guard with a reported wingspan of around seven feet long. He also has a nice shooting stroke from the outside to go along with his impressive physical measurements.

The thing with Ntilikina is simply the unknown factor. He plays spotty minutes as an 18 year old kid in a lesser known league. You don’t get much more of an unknown factor than that. But that same unknown factor could result in a home run hit for a team like the Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas could groom him from day one alongside of Yogi Ferrell and J.J. Barea. He would have the veteran support alongside a staff that has experience growing international players.

This will be a popular pairing prediction between now and the end of June.
