3 Prospects for the Dallas Mavericks to Select at Nine

2.) Jonathan Isaac, Florida State
If Ntilikina is the mystery international prospect within the top ten prospects, then Isaac is the mystery American prospect in the top ten.
Isaac is a 6’11” forward out of Florida State that immediately jumps off the paper with his physical frame. Although thin at 205 pounds, the big man spent time playing on the wing at Florida State this past year during his freshman season.
He does have some question marks surrounding his offensive game, but the biggest intrigue he brings is his defensive ability and fit into the new small ball wave circling the NBA.
Isaac can play both the three and the four positions, but will need to add some weight on his frame as he progresses over the first couple of years in the league.
Dallas would prefer to add a top point guard talent, but the potential of Isaac could be hard to pass up on the board at the 9th spot if available. Isaac would come in and be groomed to play alongside Harrison Barnes on the wing moving forward.
