Dallas Mavericks: 5 Things I Don’t Want to Happen This Summer

4.) I Don’t Want Dallas to…Have a Limit on What to Pay Nerlens Noel
At the trade deadline this past February, the Dallas Mavericks traded Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut, and two second round picks for Nerlens Noel.
Noel immediately came to Dallas and fit right into Carlisle’s system as possibly the next Tyson Chandler alongside of Dirk. Oh, he’s just 23 years old also.
Now, Noel hits restricted free agency where everyone assumes that he will be back with the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas wouldn’t have made the trade if they didn’t plan to commit financially to Noel right?
Even though I have very little doubts he will be gone, I don’t want Dallas to have a limit on what to pay him.
It would be great if Dallas could come out of the summer paying Noel around $15-18 million a year. But if another team comes offering the max or Noel’s camp is desperately wanting more, Dallas should make it happen and do what it takes to keep Noel in Dallas long-term.
