Dallas Mavericks: Gauging Some Power Forwards of Free Agency

Ilyasova is probably the player the Dallas Mavericks would least likely target in this list of names, but would fit the Mavs build well I believe. A veteran of the game, Ersan Ilyasova is a 9-year veteran who has been in the league since he was 19 years old. The Turkish-born power forward has made his living as a streaky stretch 4 who has the ability to light up the scoreboard when he is hot.

Although I am a big fan of Ilyasova, the Mavericks probably would not be very interested in pursuing him. Although he is an excellent shooter and has room to grow, he is not the type of player Dallas needs in the system, especially not as a starter. If they could get him at a discount, the interest would be there a little bit more.

Ilyasova would love to come to Dallas because he would have the opportunity to learn under one of the greatest to ever play the game in Dirk. He would also be interested in figuring out his game in a system that is happy with the way they are set. Ersan has moved around the league so much that a team with the stability that the Mavs normally have would probably be a welcome relief for him.
