. . SG. Malik Monk. 3. 20

This is probably my biggest surprise in the mock draft simply because of the wing prospects in Tatum and Jackson.

Brandon Ingram is the future of the franchise moving forward and they really like the prospect that Larry Nance Jr. is becoming. Then you look at the 6’9″ Julius Randle and the veteran in Luol Deng who is due around $18 million a year for the next three years.

If the Lakers would take Ball or Fultz with the top two picks, is the drop off from Jackson or Tatum to another guard that big of a difference?

Monk would step naturally into the starting two guard spot alongside of D’Angelo Russell in the back court. He could also come off the bench in the Lou Williams role if Los Angeles wanted to start Russell and Clarkson.
