The NBA Draft is just over two months away so it’s time to debut our first mock draft heading into the draft lottery next month.

After finishing with a 33-49 record on the season, the Dallas Mavericks enter the NBA Draft lottery in May with the 9th best odds of landing the top overall pick in the draft.

Dirk Nowitzki is poised to come back for his 20th season in the league, Harrison Barnes took the next step in his career and the Mavericks found some young pieces that could be a part of the future for many years to come.

Now, if the odds play out, the Mavericks will have the 9th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Will they get a point guard like many assume they would? Could they select a big man to help ease the load off of Nowitzki? What about another wing prospect to share minutes with Finney-Smith off the bench?

The following is the first installment of my first mock draft using the current lottery odds heading into the NBA Draft Lottery.
