Ex-Mavs Excelling in the NBA Playoffs

2.) JaVale McGee, Golden State Warriors
After appearing in 34 games for the Dallas Mavericks last year, McGee went on to sign a one year deal with the Warriors over the offseason. Looking to revive his career, McGee is doing just that by surrounding himself with four of the top 15 players in the league.
McGee has two jobs for the Warriors: protect the rim and catch the oops. Basically, play above the rim on both ends of the floor.

JaVale McGee that half: 13 points, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks
In Game 1 against the Blazers, McGee logged just over nine minutes and recorded six points, five rebounds, and two blocks for a plus/minus of +12.
In Game 2 on Wednesday night without Kevin Durant, McGee logged just over 13 minutes and recorded 15 points, five rebounds and four blocks. He also had a plus/minus of +29.
McGee is giving the Warriors exactly what Dallas, Washington, Denver and everyone tried to pull out of McGee. But with the culture and talent around him in place, McGee is excelling in the playoffs.
