6.) The Nerlens Noel Trade

One thing was certain at the trade deadline; the Dallas Mavericks were going to shed the contracts of Andrew Bogut and Deron Williams as they shift towards the future.

What people didn’t see coming was a blockbuster deal to land the 22-year-old, Nerlens Noel, in Dallas.

On the day of the NBA trade deadline, Dallas shipped off Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and basically two second round picks for Nerlens Noel. Instantly, Dallas seemed to have solved their hole in the middle moving forward.

Even though he is hitting restricted free agency this summer, Noel has already made his presence known on both sides of the ball in Dallas. From the moment Dallas acquired Noel, talk of a Tyson Chandler 2.0 mold instantly became the norm.

When it was all said and done, it was basically a swap of Justin Anderson and Nerlens Noel. With the minutes that Anderson had been logging under Carlisle, it made the trade look ever sweeter for the Mavericks.
