Dallas Mavericks: 10 Positives From the 2016-17 Season

3.) The Finding of Yogi Ferrell
After going undrafted, Ferrell found his way signing a deal with the Brooklyn Nets (two actually) before being waived in December. He spent time in the D-League and actually worked out for the Philadelphia 76ers, but ultimately Philly chose not to sign him.
On January 28th, Ferrell signed a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks and the rest is history.
After leading the Mavericks to impressive wins over the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers, the Mavericks gave him a multi-year contract on February 7th.
Ferrell would appear in 36 games where he would finish the season averaging 29.1 minutes a game. This made him the fourth highest minute average on the team with Deron Williams just above him.
The 23-year-old speak plug looks to have found a home in Dallas and has been mentioned by everyone in regards to the future of the franchise. Finding him was one of the biggest positives of the season.
