8. . SG. Kentucky. MALIK MONK

Malik Monk is arguably the best scorer in the draft, but would he fit in Dallas?

Monk is, and rightfully so, higher on every other draft board around the league probably. In Dallas, I’m not sure he fits the mold of the direction of the franchise.

First off, Mark Cuban was recently quoted for saying that the team would be looking for a pass first point guard this summer and Monk is not that. Some even question what position Monk will play in the league and if he can play the point guard position.

Second, Dallas has Seth Curry. Curry is really similar to Monk as a tweener guard who can score but lacks the natural point guard abilities.

With all of that being said, Monk is still an exceptional talent who could put up 15-20 points per game in his rookie season. If Dallas is sitting with a pick 8-10 and Monk is still on the board, selecting the high energy Monk wouldn’t be the worst decision.

Then, you simply fit Monk into your system off the bench or explore his abilities at point guard.
