Dallas Mavericks 2017 NBA Draft Big Board 4.0

SF. Kansas. JOSH JACKSON. 3.
The Mavericks need at point guard is obvious, but if Dallas is sitting with the 3rd pick in the draft and Josh Jackson is still there, I would take the best talent available.
Jackson has had some off the court issues in Kansas this season that will need to be worked out before the draft, but something that is worth taking a small risk on for the talent at hand. At Kansas this season, Jackson spent time guarding players at the 1-4 positions with his 6’8″ frame.
His outside shot isn’t perfect by any means, but his overall offensive game is impressive for his age. He has an endless motor on both ends of the floor and brings versatility to any team he joins.
As far as his fit in Dallas, Jackson could play different positions for the Mavericks. He could play alongside Harrison Barnes at the three or four while also being able to play a stretch four with Nowitzki or Noel at center.
It would be tempting to grab a De’Aaron Fox or Dennis Smith Jr., but Jackson is talent worth taking and making it work.
