The Centers

The Mavericks have been lacking at center ever since we lost Tyson Chandler. Now, they did trade for a young Nerlens Noel and he has already shown to be worth it. It is nice that they were able to get Noel, but Salah Mejri is not an ideal backup considering the options we will have over the summer. There is some young and old talent on the market this year for the Mavericks to pick up.

Mason Plumlee, DEN*

The middle brother of the Plumlee trio, Mason Plumlee would be a great pick up for Dallas in the offseason. The Nuggets’ center is averaging 11.1 points and 8.0 rebounds on the season for Denver.

Roy Hibbert, DEN

Although his numbers have declined in recent years, Roy Hibbert is still a force in the paint. Standing at 7 feet and 2 inches, the former Georgetown Hoya can be lethal when put in the right situation.

Kelly Olynyk, BOS*

One of the more versatile centers in the league, Kelly Olynyk would be another enticing option for Dallas this offseason. In his 4 years in Boston, Olynyk has averaged 9.6 points and has shot 37.4% from 3-point land. Dallas loves their foreign 7-footers, and Kelly Olynyk would be a great pickup to add to our roster.

Alex Len, PHX*

Young and full of potential, Alex Len will be a very sought after free agent this summer. The Pheonix center has averaged 6.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in his 4 seasons with the Suns.

Javale McGee, GSW

Finally, Dallas could bring back Javale McGee. You laugh, but McGee has really turned things around since arriving at Golden State. Throughout this season, McGee has shown how great he can be when put in the right situation and the right system. So, don’t sleep on Javale McGee, especially you, Shaq.
