The Shooting Guards

It would never hurt to add another shooting guard to co-exist with Wesley Matthews and Seth Curry. If Curry and Matthews are locked into the starting lineup, finding someone to potentially come off the bench behind them might be something to entertain.

Here are some of the top shooting guard free agents this summer.

J.J. Reddick, LAC

Probably the best candidate for backing-up Wes, J.J. Reddick would do wonders for the Mavericks’ offense. The 11-year veteran is a 41.3% career 3-point shooter and averages 15.1 points a game for the Clippers this year.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, DET*

A 24-years old, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a big, talented shooting guard. Pope is a true workhorse, starting in every game he has played in since the 2014-2015 season. Pope also has a great defensive presence, averaging 1.2 steals a game in his career.

Ben McLemore, SAC

This a guy that many Mavs’ fans were talking about getting before the trade deadline. However, Ben McLemore stayed in Sacramento, but he will be available this summer. The young guard out of Kansas would bring a lot of energy to Dallas.

Tim Hardaway Jr., ATL*

This would be a great signing for the Mavericks. Tim Hardaway Jr. is a young player with a ton of potential. Hardway is averaging career highs this season in points, steals, rebounds, assists, and field goal percentage.

Andrew Iguodala, GSW

Who better to add as a veteran shooting guard/small forward than Iggy? Andre Iguodala is a 12-year player and the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Andre is a strong leader, a great locker room presence, and a guy who gives 100% on a nightly basis.
