The Point Guards

With the departure of Deron Williams, Dallas is going to have a vacancy that will need to be filled. Now, they will be signing different D-League players for temporary fixes, but Dallas still needs a player for the long haul.

Yogi Ferrell is the current starting point guard and would assume to have a role on the team next season. After him, it’s J.J. Barea and a potential first round draft pick at point guard.

Luckily, there are some very strong candidates who might even be an upgrade.

Derrick Rose, NYK

After much speculation and gossip, Derrick Rose ended up staying in New York. However, he will be a free agent this summer. Rose will have 8 seasons under his belt after the year is over and still has the potential to get back towards his MVP-form.

George Hill, IND

George Hill is another guard that stayed put after a crazy trade deadline. Also, he is an experienced, talented guard playing in his 9th season in the league. Hill would be a great addition to our very young backcourt.

Jrue Holiday, NOP

Jrue Holiday has been having a great year with the Pelicans. Holiday is averaging 16.3 PPG and shooting 39.3% from long range. Holiday is a firecracker on the court and would add even more tenacity to a younger Dallas squad.

Jeff Teague, IND

Another guard out a Hoosier state, Jeff Teague is a solid three-point shooter and averaging a career-high in assists this year. Teague would bring his brand of ball facilitation that would bring a lot of life to Maverick shooters.

Patty Mills, SAS

When someone is able to play for Pop for six seasons, you know they are someone you would want on your team. Patty Mills is a great guard coming off the bench and shoots 43.2% from three-point range.
