D-. . Dallas Mavericks. . A.J. Hammons

A.J. Hammons has not made any significant presence on the court for the Mavericks this season. Although that really is to be expected from a rookie picked in the 2nd round of the draft, there is no denying that he has not earned a spot on this roster.

Hammons has appeared in 17 games for the Mavericks this season. 3 wins and 14 losses show that Dallas is being blown out more often than they are doing the blowing out. That being said, in 17 games, Hammons has not given any reason to have his spot on the roster.

On November 9th of last year, Hammons put forth his only notable performance when he scored 9 points in 6 minutes against the Golden State Warriors. In that game, Hammons shot 3-5 from the field, including 1-1 from behind the arc and 2-2 at the charity stripe. Outside of that performance, A.J. has 15 points total in the other 16 games.

For all the reasons above, A.J. Hammons has earned a D- for the season so far. With that amount of exposure to the game and still not being roster worthy, it is hard to give him any better of a grade. But, his potential, although hidden, is still visible and I think that Dallas may have use for him down the road somewhere.
