Dwight Powell. B-. . Dallas Mavericks.

Dwight Powell is one of those weird players for the Dallas Mavericks that is just really hard to get a read on. Every time I watch him play, I want him to succeed. I want to see Powell rock the rim, hit the midrange shot, and grab rebounds all over the place.

Sometimes, Mavs fans do get to see that side of Powell. It is a constant reminder of how good the kid really is capable of being. Other times, we watch him play and forget for just a second how he even made it to the NBA in the first place. No disrespect to Powell at all, but his consistency is a major thing of concern.

That being said, his game has definitely taken a step up from last season to this one. His ability to catch the ball has taken a huge turn in the right direction and his ability to finish at the rim is much improved.

Powell gets a B- from me mostly because we can still see that there is a whole other level that he is capable of getting to. As he continues to grow and fulfill more of his potential on the court, his grade is only set to improve. At this point in the year, Powell is averaging nearly 7 points, for rebounds and a steal per contest. He has appeared in every game so far this season.
