. Dallas Mavericks. . Overall Grade. B+

The overall grade for the Dallas Mavericks forwards was a B+, not surprising considering the fact that our starters have made a huge impact on the team. From Harrison Barnes and his exceptional play, to Wes Matthews jumping in to a big role after a slow start, Dallas has been blessed with some great play.

The reason they did not receive a great grade is pretty simple. Dirk has been a shell of himself for a vast majority of the season. Someone like Nowitzki still has to be heavily relied on for points in the Mavericks offense and we have not been able to do that. Which is a big reason for our record now.

You may be asking why Dirk got a B- and it affected the team play that much, but the truth is it’s a tough system that doesn’t take any prisoners. More production from the bench players would certainly be helpful for Dallas as well.

When the Mavericks come back for the back end of the season, the second unit is going to have to make an impact that they have not been making as of late. Justin Anderson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and, on the rarest of occasions, Nico Brussino need to be ready to step up.
