1.) Portland

The Portland Trail Blazers are my first logical destination for Andrew Bogut.

After finishing last year as the 5th seed in the Western Conference, Portland finds themselves sitting in the 8th spot with a 12-10 record through the first fourth of the season. They are 29th in the league in points allowed and 28th in the league in rebounds allowed.

In the front court, they have Mason Plumleee, Ed Davis, Meyers Leonard, Festus Ezeli, Noah Vonleh, and even Al-Farouq Aminu. Most, if not all, of their front court players are athletic and versatile in their ability to play both positions. But none have that defensive, anchor type presence in the paint that Andrew Bogut would have.

With Portland being well over the cap, they would have to include a couple of players in the deal to acquire Bogut. Portland does own their first round draft picks for the next multiple years so including one in a deal could be done.

Bogut would plug into the starting center role where he would hope to give the Blazers an anchor for a playoff push.

For the package back to Dallas, the Mavericks could seek a first rounder while shipping whatever player Portland sheds to a cap needed team or they could take back that player if they wanted.
