Kawhi Leonard

Next on the list would have to be the two-time defending DPOY, Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi is a beast at the wing and has deserved his title at the top of the defensive world. Some believe it will stay that way for 2016-17.

“The 2017 defensive player of the year will be the same as 2016. Kawhi Leanord is a athletic freak with intense focus and great coaching. Add a solid team around him, and you have a recipe for DPOY repeat.”

– Sam Casey

“Kawhi Leonard. I feel like I don’t need to explain this. Leonard is a human octopus that suffocates all life out of an offense. You can’t even pass it to his side of the floor. Just give it to him now.”

– Shawn James

“Kawhi Leonard. Yes, he will win the award for the 3rd straight season. I also see him improving his offensive game. Leonard is becoming one of the best players in our game, and it all starts with his defense. He has the most lock down defender in this league, and I don’t see that changing this season.”
