The NBA is officially underway, and with it a few Defensive Player of the Year candidates. The Smoking Cuban staff decided to make their own predictions on league awards, focusing this time on the DPOY.
Much like in the case of the MVP award, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year definitely has its frontrunners. From long, quick wings, to aggressive, rebound-hungry forwards, to the shot blocking centers of the league, multiple names stick out.
A few of those names are active in NBA games tonight and others will get their season started later this week. These players have either won the award or have been in the voting to do so in the past. These are still the frontrunners in the NBA today.
The Smoking Cuban staff tends to agree with the rest of the NBA in this category. Here is everyone’s prediction.
