Roundtable: Who Will Be the Mavericks 6th Man of the Year

Justin Anderson
“I really like Justin Anderson for this role. Going into this season, the Mavericks have several guards that come off the bench and create a spark, but out of all of those options, I’m really high on Justin Anderson. Last season, we saw flashes of Anderson’s greatness as an on-ball defender and high-energy guy to come off the bench. I know the sixth man role has been designated for JJ Barea, but I think if given the minutes, Anderson can really come off the bench as the sixth man and make a big difference late in games.” -Eron Ramadanov
“The 6th man will be Justin Anderson. His athleticism and aggressiveness will be the energy needed to come off the bench and be instant offense. The Dallas Mavericks don’t have a player that can create with the ball in his hand like Anderson so he will be vital for the Mavericks offense of the season.” -Ricky Castro
“Our 6th man will be Justin Anderson. This will be the popular pick here, but it’s hard to vote against it. If Harrison Barnes hadn’t signed a max deal, Anderson would be starting in his 2nd year in the NBA. Justin Anderson had an amazing playoff run. I see this play carrying over to next season.” -Austin Denius
“Justin Anderson. He came on very strong at the end of last season and Carlisle began to trust him more and more. He should cut down on his turnovers and increase his field goal percentage. He should also improve defensively since he’s put his rookie year behind him and is more used to NBA size and speed. He’ll fill in nicely coming in to replace Barnes. However, I could see this going to Barea or Harris as well.” -Shawn James
“Last season Rick Carlisle‘s trust in Justin Anderson grew exponentially at the end of the season, even having him start some games for the Mavs. Now entering his second season, after a summer of working out and refining his game, I fully expect Simba to fill the 6th man role as an energizer off the bench. A lineup with Wes, Anderson, Barnes, and Bogut together on the floor will be able to run teams off the floor as well as stifle even the best NBA offenses.” -Sam Casey
