3.) Dirk Nowitzki Ages Quick

We don’t want to talk about it, but at some point, Dirk Nowitzki will be too old to play in the league. Let’s just hope that isn’t for another couple of seasons.

Last year, at 37 years old, Nowitzki averaged over 18 points a game as the Big German continued to defy the odds. He was the go-to guy in crunch time and led the team in scoring on most nights. He was simply the same Dirk we are all accustomed to.

With the Mavs new additions this offseason, defense will be their strong suit. This will once again put an emphasis on the offensive production of Nowitzki. Dallas will need the big fella to score the basketball like he has the past couple of seasons, but hopefully on lower minutes.

What Dallas cannot afford is Nowitzki take a Kobe Bryant aging approach and ages quick this season. If Dallas can’t get Nowitzki scoring consistently on a nightly basis, things could go south in Dallas.
