With several rookies agreeing to some sort of deal with the Dallas Mavericks over the last few weeks, who will be the Mavs Rookie of the Year?

The Dallas Mavericks have taken one of the more unique routes to free agency that we have seen from a team in recent history. After aiming for a handful of either young stars or capable veterans, the team settled down with the second tier of the same kind.

Despite going after what was considered the next level down from the stars available this offseason, Dallas was still spent in the salary cap. With no money left and roster spots to fill, the Mavs had a choice between old veterans looking for a home or young rookies trying to find a start.

In the past, it was no question that Dallas was going to settle for one-year, veteran’s minimum deals for the older players and try again the following summer. But this year, something changed. Instead of filling the roster with Charlie Villanueva’s and JaVale McGee’s, the Mavericks went young.

This coming season, the Dallas Mavericks have already signed a number of rookies to some sort of deal, either partially or fully guaranteed. These players include Jonathan Gibson, Nicolas Brussino, Dorian Finney-Smith, A.J. Hammons, Jameel Warney, Kyle Collinsworth, and Keith Hornsby.

Today, the staff made their picks on who of these players will be considered the team Rookie of the Year at the end of the season. Here are our picks.
