Sam Casey: Dirk Nowitzki

“I’m gonna have to go with a real sleeper here…Dirk Nowitzki. In all seriousness, Dirk is still far and away the best player on this team and even though he still will lose ground in his battle with Father Time this season, he will be the Mavs’ MVP. Dirk’s impact on the offense goes far beyond his points and assists numbers. The Big German attracts double teams, spaces the floor, and requires constant attention by the defense. Dirk will lead Dallas in PPG and be top 3 in minutes played, while overall contributing to about 65% of the Mavs’ offense this season.”
