After capitalizing on the Kevin Durant decision, Dallas brought in Harrison Barnes on a max contract, but what will he be in two years?
The Dallas Mavericks notably missed out on the big fish once again this summer, but rebounded nicely by adding a couple of past NBA champions. When all hope looked to be lost in Dallas, Kevin Durant picked the Golden State Warriors and suddenly the Mavericks were able to grab two of the cap casualties in Golden State.
With Golden State renouncing their rights to the 24-year old Harrison Barnes, Dallas jumped at the opportunity to add the youngster, but it came at a price. Handing Barnes a max contract over four years brought much criticism as many people viewed Barnes as purely a role player on the Warriors.
In Dallas, Barnes will be asked to come in a be one of the main options on the team. His perimeter defense is known, but what will he look like with a bigger offensive role?
