Why the Dallas Mavericks Are a ‘Winner’ This Summer

With Dallas missing out on the big names of free agency once again, is it still possible for them to be a ‘winner’ of the offseason?
Every year, after big events such as the NBA Draft, trade deadline, or free agency, members across the media name their ‘winners’ and ‘losers’ of the event. Teams that did really well or made some questionable moves that would make them ‘losers’.
Even though the summer isn’t completely over yet, the majority of free agent moves have taken place along with some smaller trades. So who won this offseason?
There are some obvious teams that come to mind such as the Golden State Warriors adding Kevin Durant or the Utah Jazz adding a trio of veterans to their young core. In the East, you could even take about the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers.
But what about the Dallas Mavericks?
Could Dallas possibly be considered a ‘winner’ this offseason after missing out on all of their initial targets at the beginning of free agency and letting Chandler Parsons walk to Memphis?
I believe they can and here are five reasons they are.
