3.) San Antonio Spurs

This is my obvious landing spot for David Lee.

With the departures of David West, Boris Diaw, and Boban Marjanovic, along with the retirement of Tim Duncan, the Spurs suddenly have some minutes open down low.

They did sign Pau Gasol to be their starting center beside LaMarcus Aldridge, but the depth behind either of them is in question. Lee would step directly into the David West role last season and log major minutes off the bench.

If you are David Lee, what better situation to go to than the San Antonio Spurs in a quality role while playing under Gregg Popovich?

Unless Lee is seeking more money on a longer contract, I would expect Lee to land with a quality playoff contender over the next week or so. By the way he played last season, some team is about to get a veteran steal off the free agent market.
